Liam & Millie with Prairie's calfMany of you know our daughter, Millie Delaney, and some know the story of her passion for Brown Swiss Milk Cows.  Thanks to John at Rockin’ J Farms and Moonhill Dairy, she’s been ‘livin’ the dream’ this summer milking ‘Prairie’ and learning how to transform fresh non-homogenized (yeah, the cream is IN it!) milk into ricotta and mozzarella cheeses as well as yogurts and ice cream.

The good news for friends of the ‘Goose’ is that you don’t have to spend a whole day making cheese and you don’t have to go milk a cow as we now carry John’s Ricotta Cheese from Moonhill Dairy along with his fresh, pasteurized milk for purchase by the gallon.  We are beyond excited to have a local dairy once again in the Yampa Valley and John’s Brown Swiss cows are doing an amazing job with the milk.

We are receiving local deliveries on a weekly basis here to the Granary and have fresh milk and fresh ricotta available for purchase, or even better, enjoy a local milk latte (no upgrade fee as an introductory special through July 15th) or our new special crepe, the “Brown Swiss” made with nutella; ricotta and drizzled with fruit sauce and pecans.  WOW!
